ExchangeRight, a sponsor of Delaware statutory trust and non-traded real estate investment trust offerings, has promoted Dave Van Steenis to president. As president, Van Steenis will lead the company’s efforts to source, syndicate, and strategically manage tax-advantaged REIT, DST, and real estate fund investments.

“Dave has been critical to ExchangeRight’s stewardship of more than $7.1 billion in assets under management, helping us grow from approximately $250 million when he first started with the company,” said Joshua Ungerecht, managing partner at ExchangeRight. “As the chair of our executive leadership team, he has worked tirelessly to build our business and our team, and he has been instrumental in securing and expanding key capital and banking relationships that have helped to fund and finance just about every aspect of our operations.”

Van Steenis has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services and commercial real estate industries, including more than 10 years with ExchangeRight. As chief financial officer and chief investment officer, he has overseen the company’s investment strategy and processes, including sourcing, analysis, acquisitions, financing, legal, syndication, asset management, and financial reporting.

“Dave has consistently demonstrated excellence, humility, and servant-hearted leadership on our team for years, and we are thrilled to see the further successes that our team will achieve under his leadership as president of ExchangeRight,” added Ungerecht.

Prior to joining ExchangeRight, Van Steenis worked at Kaufman Jacobs Real Estate Investments, where he focused on acquisitions and financial reporting for its real estate private equity business. He began his career with KPMG in the financial services audit practice, working with private and public banking and investment management clients. Van Steenis earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Trinity Christian College.

“Dave embodies ExchangeRight’s core values in all that he does and with everyone with whom he interacts,” said Warren Thomas, managing partner at ExchangeRight. “Not only do the managing partners rely heavily on his analysis and business acumen in setting direction and making strategic decisions for the company, but the teams he works with consistently value his humility and his focus on their needs and development … ExchangeRight would not be what it is today without Dave, and we are confident that our best days lie ahead with the benefit of his increased leadership in this role.”

Earlier this year, ExchangeRight added two senior vice presidents of national accounts: Mollie Boyce and Betsy Ward. Prior to joining ExchangeRight, they came from Pender Capital and Lateral Investment Management, respectively.

ExchangeRight and its affiliates’ vertically integrated platform features more than $7.1 billion in assets under management that are diversified across more than 1,400 properties and 27 million square feet throughout 47 states, as of Jan. 31, 2026. According to Mountain Dell data, ExchangeRight Real Estate reported $79.5 million in equity raised, representing 11.1% market share from DST sales in January 2026.
