ExchangeRight Hires Peter Nicolas to Cover New England Sales

ExchangeRight, a Pasadena, Calif.-based sponsor of Delaware statutory trust and real estate investment trust offerings, has hired Peter Nicolas as senior vice president of its New England region.
Nicolas joins the firm’s distribution team. He will work with representatives, advisers, and their clients in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and upstate New York.
He has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, including in portfolio management and alternative investments. Before joining ExchangeRight, Nicolas was a vice president at Bonaventure Real Estate in 2024, leading capital-raising efforts in the Northeast and focusing on the registered investment adviser and family office markets. Before that, he was director of the RIA/family office division at Bluerock Capital Markets from 2018 to 2024.
“We are thrilled to welcome Peter to the team,” said Joshua Ungerecht, a managing partner at ExchangeRight. “His deep industry experience and dedication to putting investors first make him a valuable addition as we continue expanding our support for advisors and their clients in the New England region.”
“I am excited to collaborate with wealth advisors across New England to meet their clients’ needs for tax deferral and passive income,” Nicolas said.
Nicolas earned his master’s degree in finance from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and biology from Boston College.
This is the latest of several regional and national accounts hires at ExchangeRight this year. In June the firm named Ken Beck senior vice president of its Four Corners region. In April it named Matthew Ferguson senior vice president of 1031 and 721 solutions for the Central region, and in March it named Scott Dixon senior vice president of the Pacific Northwest region. In January it added Betsy Ward and Mollie Boyce as senior vice presidents of national accounts.
ExchangeRight said that, together with its affiliates, it had more than $7.8 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30, 2026. Those assets cover more than 1,400 properties totaling 31 million square feet in 47 states. The firm had reported more than $7.4 billion as of May 31, 2026. It sponsors 1031 DST portfolios, its Essential Income REIT, and cash management funds.
