Stratos Wealth Holdings Names Charis Jones as Chief Operating Officer

Independent wealth management firm Stratos Wealth Holdings has appointed Charis Jones as chief operating officer, head of supervision, overseeing the firm’s Advisory Operations and Supervision departments, as well as Stratos Investment Management, the firm’s affiliated sub-adviser.
Jones brings nearly three decades of leadership experience in financial services, spanning compliance, supervision, and operational excellence. In the past two years, she served as chief compliance officer of Hightower Securities and executive director of compliance at Hightower Advisors, where she contributed to advancing governance and regulatory strategy.
Prior to Hightower, Jones spent more than eight years at LPL Financial, where she held multiple senior leadership roles, including senior vice president and chief supervisory officer, head of home office supervision, and deputy chief compliance officer of advisory compliance. Earlier in her career, she served as executive director at Morgan Stanley from 2005 to 2015, where she helped develop oversight frameworks for one of the industry’s largest advisory platforms, and as vice president at Citi Private Bank, supporting ultra-high-net-worth and law-firm clients.
“Charis brings a remarkable depth of experience, having led some of the industry’s most complex supervisory and compliance functions,” said Jeff Concepcion, founder and chief executive officer of Stratos Wealth Partners. “Her operational insight, strategic leadership, and passion for adviser support align perfectly with our mission to empower advisers and strengthen the Stratos platform.”
In her new role, Jones will focus on optimizing Stratos’s operational infrastructure, enhancing adviser service delivery, and supporting continued excellence across its regulatory and investment functions.
Earlier this year, SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC) – a financial services technology and investment solutions company – acquired a majority stake of Stratos. Under the agreement, SEI paid approximately $527 million in cash for a 57.5% stake in an entity that holds Stratos’ operating businesses. The remaining 42.5% is retained by certain legacy Stratos equity holders, with provisions that may allow SEI to acquire full ownership in the future.
Jones added, “I’m honored to join Stratos at such an exciting time of growth. The firm’s culture of collaboration, innovation, and adviser-focused support deeply resonates with me, and I look forward to helping advance its strategic vision.”
Jones earned a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.
Stratos is a family of companies that includes affiliated registered investment advisers. Stratos supports a network of independent financial advisers by providing flexible affiliation models, including hybrid options, and practice management consulting, operations, technology, and compliance services. Financial advisers associated through the Stratos network of RIAs oversee more than $37 billion in client assets.
