LPL Adds Advisers With $1.1 Billion From Buell, J.P. Morgan

The additions come two days after a $2.4 billion team joined LPL from U.S. Bank, extending a brisk stretch of adviser recruiting at the firm.

LPL Financial LLC added financial advisers overseeing a combined $1.1 billion in client assets this week, as the five-adviser Buell Wealth Management team joined the firm’s broker-dealer and registered investment adviser platform from Buell Securities Corporation, and Alan Feutz, CFP, joined LPL-affiliated firm Genesis Wealth from J.P. Morgan.

Buell Wealth Management

Based in Glastonbury, Conn., Buell Wealth Management is led by chief executive officer Chris Berris, who has more than 40 years of industry experience and has held his leadership role since 1997. The practice traces its roots to Berris’s former firm, Buell Securities Corporation, founded in 1921. The five advisers reported serving approximately $370 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets and have a combined 187 years of industry experience, an average of 37 years each. The team serves high-net-worth individuals, retirees, and business owners across 21 states.

Berris said the move gives the practice more time to focus on clients rather than back-office operations. “LPL offers the services, technology and operational support we need to help streamline our business and focus more of our time and energy on serving clients,” he said.

Alan Feutz

Based in Deerfield, Ill., outside Chicago, Feutz brings more than two decades of industry experience and works primarily with individuals and families approaching or living in retirement. He reported serving approximately $725 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets and joins Genesis Wealth, an LPL-affiliated firm, from J.P. Morgan. His practice emphasizes retirement planning, tax-aware strategies, legacy planning, and multigenerational wealth conversations.

Feutz said LPL’s scale and Genesis Wealth’s structure together give him more room to work directly with clients. Genesis Wealth founder and managing partner Kosta Tanglis said the firm was “excited to welcome him” and looks forward to supporting his practice’s growth.

LPL chief growth officer Marc Cohen welcomed both additions in separate statements, citing Buell Wealth Management’s multigenerational planning focus and Feutz’s work helping clients navigate retirement income and legacy decisions.

Continued recruiting momentum

The additions extend an active stretch of recruiting for LPL. Two days earlier, the firm added HighWater Wealth, a San Diego-based team overseeing approximately $2.4 billion in advisory assets, from U.S. Bank. Earlier in the month, LPL added three adviser teams managing a combined $725 million from Wells Fargo and MML Investors Services, following two teams overseeing $660 million in late June.

LPL Financial (Nasdaq: LPLA) supports more than 32,000 financial advisers and custodies approximately $2.3 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets on behalf of roughly 8 million Americans.
