Beacon Financial Group, an Aurora, Ohio-based independent advisory firm overseeing nearly $1 billion in client assets, has joined Osaic Inc.’s Empowered Independence channel, Osaic said Nov. 2.

The firm, led by Brent Besinger, managing director, previously operated as an independent registered investment adviser with broker-dealer affiliation through Private Client Services. Osaic said Beacon chose the platform to support its long-term succession planning.

Besinger founded Beacon in 2007 and set it up as an independent RIA in 2022 after a long tenure at Lincoln Financial Advisors, one of the two Lincoln wealth management firms Osaic acquired in 2024. According to Osaic, Beacon serves more than 120 families and has a staff of seven.

Osaic said Besinger’s decision was shaped by his relationship with John DiMonda, Osaic’s head of Advisor Direct. The two worked together for more than 15 years at Lincoln Financial Advisors.

Besinger said his top priority in weighing succession options was a partner that would let the firm “continue running our business the way we always have.”

DiMonda described the move as one about protecting what Besinger had built rather than overhauling it. “Brent wasn’t looking to change the way his firm operates,” DiMonda said.

Empowered Independence, which Osaic launched in 2023, is the firm’s W-2 employee affiliation channel. Osaic said the affiliation gives Beacon access to expanded wealth management offerings, technology, and business resources, along with a framework for succession planning.

The firm is the latest in a series of established practices to move into the channel. California-based Veater Financial Group joined in December 2025 with about $1.1 billion in assets under advisement, Connecticut-based Bard Financial Services followed in February 2026 with about $1.2 billion, and Gateway Investments moved roughly $1.5 billion to the channel in April 2026, following Pointes North Wealth Management, which added more than $500 million earlier that month. Cincinnati-based Tri-State Financial Group moved about $575 million to the channel in June.

Osaic is a portfolio company of Reverence Capital Partners and supports more than 10,000 financial professionals, according to the company.
