Origin Interval Fund Closes $50M Bridge Loan for Austin-Area Multifamily Project

Origin Real Estate Credit Fund closed a $50 million bridge loan for Evergreen at Whisper Valley, a 348-unit multifamily development in Manor, Texas, in the Austin metro area, its third bridge loan closing in roughly 45 days. Other terms were not disclosed, according to adviser Origin Credit Advisers LLC.
The three-story garden-style community, built in 2025 by developer Allied Orion Group, sits within the Whisper Valley master-planned community east of Highway 130, a development planned to include 7,500 residential units alongside office, retail, and grocery space. Amenities include reserved covered parking, EV charging, a demonstration kitchen, a fitness studio, and a work-from-home lounge, according to Origin.
“We continue to believe that vintage matters for Class A residential communities in today’s multifamily development and private debt markets,” said Tom Briney, president and chief investment officer of Origin Credit Advisers. “Evergreen at Whisper Valley is well-positioned in the market and has delivered at a time when completions are slowing, further adding to the property’s competitiveness.”
The fund closed a $49.5 million bridge loan for Grayson on 4th, a 336-unit Fort Worth, Texas, development, in early June, and a $60.2 million loan for Willows at Stallings, a 315-unit project in Stallings, N.C., earlier this month. Combined, the three loans total $159.7 million.
Origin Real Estate Credit Fund is a multifamily credit interval fund launched in March through the merger of the Origin Multifamily Credit Fund and the Origin Strategic Credit Fund. The combined vehicles held $413.1 million in assets as of July 2025; by the time of the Grayson on 4th closing in early June, fund assets had grown to more than $700 million. The fund invests across the multifamily capital stack, including direct loans to developers and operators, Freddie Mac-backed bonds and commercial real estate collateralized loan obligations.
The fund’s share classes are offered under the ORRIX and ORROX ticker symbols and are available to financial advisers through custodial platforms including Schwab, Fidelity, and Pershing. Self-directed investors can also invest directly through the fund’s administrator, Ultimus Fund Solutions. Class I shares carry a $5,000 minimum investment and no accreditation requirement. As an interval fund, Origin Real Estate Credit Fund makes quarterly offers to repurchase between 5% and 25% of outstanding shares.
Origin Credit Advisers, founded in 2023 as an affiliate of Origin Investments, is an investment adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Origin Investments is a multifamily real estate fund manager with more than $3.8 billion in assets under management.
