Inland Names Matthew Beverly Head of Asset Management

The Inland Real Estate Group has named Matthew Beverly head of asset management, adding a real estate operating executive with more than 20 years of experience. Beverly will oversee Inland’s asset management strategy across its investment platforms and reports to the company’s executive leadership team.

Inland manages roughly $16 billion in assets.

Beverly joins from Transformco Properties LLC, where he served as senior vice president and led the sale, development, and leasing of the former Sears and Kmart real estate portfolio.

He previously served as chief executive officer of Cullinan Properties Ltd. and as president of the East Division for Retail Properties of America Inc., where he oversaw an 8 million-square-foot portfolio generating approximately $130 million in annual net operating income. Earlier in his career, he was vice president of investments at General Growth Properties Inc., where he worked on more than $4.4 billion in acquisition, disposition, and joint venture transactions.

“Matt brings a unique combination of asset management, leasing, development and investment expertise,” said Tony Chereso, CEO and president of The Inland Real Estate Companies LLC.

Beverly holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois.

The hire extends a run of leadership additions and transitions at Inland this year. In January, Matthew Fries joined Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation as CEO and president. In February, Bernard J. Michael became president and CEO of Inland Real Estate Income Trust, succeeding Mark E. Zalatoris. In March, Inland named Michael Collins head of global wealth at Inland Securities Corporation. In June, the company announced the additions of Jacqueline Dagan as associate general counsel and Dhaval Parikh as head of institutional capital formation within that same unit.
