Veritas Group Names Former Bluerock Executive to Lead Due Diligence

Veritas Group, LLC has named R.P. Bonham managing director and head of due diligence at the Maitland, Fla.-based real estate investment platform.
Bonham will oversee Veritas Group’s investor due diligence program, leading the diligence-review process for registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, and family offices across the firm’s multifamily and self-storage investment strategies. He will manage requests for proposals, due diligence questionnaires, and operational due diligence workflows and serve as a senior coordination point across the investment, legal, compliance, and investor relations teams.
Bonham brings more than 20 years of experience in investor due diligence and alternative investments to the role. Most recently, he served as vice president of due diligence at Bluerock Real Estate, where he managed due diligence for public and private real estate funds and interval funds. Before Bluerock, he held a senior due diligence leadership role at Snyder Kearney LLC, conducting reviews of nontraded real estate investment trusts, business development companies, preferred equity, and Delaware statutory trusts.
Earlier in his career, Bonham spent more than a decade at CIM Group — formerly Cole Capital — in progressively senior roles, including vice president of portfolio oversight and vice president and head of due diligence. In the latter role, he built and led a team of due diligence analysts, designed the firm’s formalized due diligence framework, and represented the firm at industry conferences on investment structures and market trends.
“R.P. brings a depth of due diligence expertise that directly supports our mission of delivering institutional-quality investment solutions to our adviser partners,” said John Sabey, national sales director for Veritas Group.
Bonham said, “Veritas Group has built a compelling platform with a clear focus and a proven track record of execution across multifamily and self-storage — two sectors with strong long-term fundamentals. I look forward to strengthening the firm’s due diligence capabilities and supporting its continued growth with RIAs, broker-dealers, and family offices.”
Bonham holds an MBA in finance from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses and is a member of the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association, known as ADISA, as well as the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives.
Veritas Group is a fully integrated real estate investment platform that, according to the company, has raised and invested more than $2 billion. The firm focuses on multifamily and self-storage investments.
