Variant Investments Names Senior Hires to Lead Capital Markets, Investor Relations

Private credit investment manager Variant Investments LLC announced the expansion of its senior leadership team with the appointment of Qing Fan as senior vice president of capital markets and Patrick Dillon as vice president of investor relations. The firm, which manages $2.6 billion in assets, continues to focus on uncorrelated, income-generating assets in niche private markets.
The Portland, Ore.-based firm, which offers closed-end interval funds and a private fund, said the appointments are intended to broaden its reach across institutional and wealth management channels.
Based in New York and reporting to co-founder JB Hayes, Fan will lead the firm’s capital markets strategy, with a focus on syndication and institutional investor growth. She previously served as co-chief revenue officer and head of capital markets at fintech firm Raistone from 2021 to 2026. Before that, she held senior roles at BNP Paribas for more than a decade.
Operating out of Chicago and reporting to Ryan Warren, director of investor relations, Dillon will focus on capital raising within the U.S. wealth management sector, targeting registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, and turnkey asset management programs, or TAMPs. His background includes business development roles at Community Capital Management from 2024 to 2026, Ethic, and Halo Investing from 2019 to 2022, supporting distribution across the RIA and family office channels.
“We are thrilled to bring Qing and Patrick on board as we continue to broaden our senior team,” Hayes said. “Qing has a unique skillset and vast experience in both originations and syndications and will partner closely with our investment and investor relations teams. Patrick’s knowledge of institutional and adviser segments will be instrumental in building and strengthening relationships.”
Fan holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Dillon earned bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University and holds a FINRA Series 6 license.
Established in 2017, Variant Investments is a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission-registered investment adviser focused on niche private credit strategies.
