By Mari Nicholson

The Exeter Group of Companies has promoted Brett L. Davis to senior vice president and chief trust officer, giving him direct oversight of trust administration, custody and compliance operations for Exeter Trust Company, the firm’s Wyoming-chartered trust subsidiary.

Exeter Trust Company is a Wyoming corporation that is licensed and examined by the Wyoming Division of Banking. The firm provides custody and administrative services for investors holding alternative investments, including self-directed IRAs, private fund accounts and 1031 exchange structures.

“Brett has been a key driver of our continued growth and operational excellence,” said William L. Exeter, chair and chief executive officer of The Exeter Group of Companies. “His deep understanding of trust administration and his steadfast commitment to secure, compliant operations have directly enhanced our ability to serve investors who demand specialized custodial solutions.”

In his expanded role, Davis will direct trust, agency, custody and administrative functions across the organization. The company said his background in trust administration has been central to its custody of self-directed individual retirement accounts, private fund custody and administrative services, directed and administrative trustee services, and other custodial services for alternative assets.

Maureen H. Brown, president and chief operating officer of The Exeter Group of Companies, said Davis ensures the trust operations team provides “clear, factual, transparent and responsive support” to clients navigating self-directed retirement and custody strategies.

Davis holds a Master of Science degree from Robert Morris University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University.

The Exeter Group of Companies provides diversified financial services through operating businesses focused on tax deferral and tax exclusion strategies for investors.
