Starboard Appoints National Sales Director to Lead B-D, RIA Channel Expansion
Real estate investment firm Starboard Realty Advisors, a national provider of 1031 exchange investments, named David Gunnels as its new national sales director. According to the firm, the hire marks a pivotal step in its commitment to strengthening and expanding its relationships with its broker-dealer and registered investment adviser partners.
Gunnels brings over two decades of experience in capital raising, broker-dealer relations, and investment distribution strategy. Most recently, he served as vice president at Bourne Financial Group, where he was responsible for national wholesaling efforts. In his new role, Gunnels will be a crucial contributor to Starboard’s capital markets team, developing strategic relationships within the broker-dealer community, and driving capital raise efforts for the firm’s investment offerings.

Earlier this year, the company promoted De Leon to president. De Leon brought to the leadership role over 18 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development, and investment offerings, with a track record exceeding $1 billion in transactions. In addition, Stephen Carlton, co-founder and former president, continued to provide strategic leadership as a partner.
