Sightbridge Taps StratCap's Katie Peterson for Private Wealth Role
Katie Peterson

Sightbridge Capital Partners LLC has named Katie Peterson managing director, private wealth, adding a 14-year alternative investment distribution veteran alongside Nick Brakovich, whose appointment AltsWire covered earlier this month.

Peterson and Brakovich will work closely with Jay Frank, Sightbridge founder and chief executive officer, to build the firm’s presence in the private wealth channel ahead of the launch of its first programs, the company said. Together they bring 34 years of combined alternative investment distribution experience across wirehouses, registered investment advisers, banks, independent broker-dealers, and family offices. Peterson will focus on national account and platform relationships and on home office research and due diligence, while Brakovich will focus on platform and adviser coverage.

“I have worked with Katie and Nick and known them for years,” Frank said. “Katie has run national accounts and worked the due diligence side of this business. Nick has covered advisers, home offices at the due diligence level, and spent time building technology for the industry. Their skill sets and experience align with where Sightbridge is headed. We will keep building around them.”

Peterson previously served as head of private wealth distribution at StratCap Securities and as senior vice president, national accounts, at Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management, where she supported due diligence, marketing, and product distribution. Earlier in her career, she was a senior supervisory principal at Questar Capital, managing the due diligence process for alternative investment offerings.

Peterson, now based in New York City, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 52, 53, and 66 licenses. She also co-chairs the Next Gen committee of the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association, or ADISA.

“The firms I work with are not short on tax-advantaged real estate options,” Peterson said. “They are short on programs they can defend on structure, economics, reporting, and alignment. That is a solvable problem, and it is the one I came here to work on.”

Brakovich, based in Newport Beach, Calif., earned his bachelor’s degree in urban planning and development from the University of Southern California and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Sightbridge describes itself as a structuring, distribution, and servicing platform that partners with institutional real estate owner-operators to bring tax-advantaged real estate programs to the U.S. private wealth channel. The firm said its principals have been involved in more than 100 alternative investment programs representing about $45 billion of real estate.
