NexPoint Capital's NAV Climbs to $4.67, Extending Recovery Past 2025 Levels

NexPoint Capital Inc.’s net asset value per share reached $4.67 as of July 31, 2026, up from a first-quarter low of $4.30. The nontraded business development company uses the figure to price shares issued under its distribution reinvestment plan.

The increase extends a recovery that began after NAV bottomed out on March 31 following a decline from $4.60 at the end of 2025, as AltsWire reported in April. NAV climbed to $4.40 by May 21 and $4.45 by June 4, and stood at $4.43 when the fund completed its most recent quarterly tender offer on June 16, before climbing further to $4.67 by the end of July, a level above where the fund started the year.

NexPoint Capital has continued to offer shareholders limited liquidity through quarterly tender offers for up to 1% of outstanding shares, priced between NAV and 2.5% above NAV. The fund’s previous offer, announced May 15 and closed June 16, resulted in 84,095.83 shares tendered at $4.43 per share. The BDC has also continued to pay a $0.09 per share monthly distribution.

NexPoint Capital said Aug. 21 that it will commence another voluntary tender offer for up to 1% of its outstanding shares, priced at $4.67 per share.

The company’s rebound follows a longer decline. NAV stood at $6.13 per share in 2020, leaving the current figure roughly 24% below that mark.
