Inland Veteran Keith Lampi to Lead New Bluerock Tax Solutions Unit

Bluerock, an alternative asset manager with more than $20 billion in acquired and managed assets, announced today that it named Keith Lampi chief executive officer of Bluerock Tax Solutions, or BTS, a newly created division focused on tax-advantaged strategies for the private wealth channel. Lampi’s first day in the role was Oct. 12.
As CEO of BTS, Lampi is overseeing the expansion of the firm’s tax-advantaged platform, including qualified opportunity zone and 721 exchange offerings, the company said. He is based in Chicago.
The appointment brings Lampi back to the industry a year after he stepped down from his senior executive roles at Inland. His career there began with an internship at Inland Private Capital Corp., or IPC, in 2001. When he left, Lampi was CEO of Inland Real Estate Investment Corp., known as Inland Investments, a role he assumed in February 2024. He was also chairman and CEO of its IPC Alternative Real Estate Income Trust Inc., a nontraded real estate investment trust. He resigned from the REIT effective Oct. 20, 2025, and the REIT said his departure was not due to any disagreement with the company. In January, Inland named former Cetera executive Matthew Fries CEO of Inland Investments.
Bluerock said IPC’s tax solutions platform grew to more than $13 billion in assets under management under Lampi’s leadership, citing Inland figures as of Dec. 31, 2025.
BTS builds on Bluerock’s 21-year history as a sponsor of Delaware statutory trust offerings for individual investors, the company said.
“Bluerock was one of the first sponsors to bring the DST structure to the wealth channel, and we continue to deliver leading-edge solutions for our clients. With Keith leading Bluerock Tax Solutions, we are building on that pioneering foundation to give advisers a broader, deeper set of tax-advantaged strategies for their clients,” said Ramin Kamfar, Bluerock founder and chief executive officer.
Bluerock defined BTS as a separate business vertical focused on the expansion of its tax-advantaged investment platform, including qualified opportunity zones and 721 exchange opportunities; it sits alongside the company’s 1031 exchange platform, Bluerock Value Exchange, or BVEX. Both Josh Hoffman, BVEX’s president, and Lampi report directly to Kamfar.
Lampi has long been a public voice for the securitized 1031 market. As president of the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association in 2018, he told AltsWire that the market had moved from a niche product toward the mainstream. He said the shift was driven by aging property owners trading actively managed real estate for passive ownership, a trend he expected to sustain capital raising for years.
“Advisers are helping clients with increasingly complex tax decisions, and they want partners with real depth. I joined Bluerock to build on that and broaden what we offer – tax solutions designed for advisers and their clients, based upon their unique needs,” said Lampi.
Bluerock’s platform spans 1031 and 721 exchange programs, private and public real estate, and alternative credit.
