Former Lincoln Financial VP Becomes Community Leader at Cetera
Richard Vogel

Cetera has named wealth management industry veteran  Richard Vogel as the new community leader of Cetera Advisors. In this role, Vogel will lead initiatives to help Cetera advisers uncover and pursue meaningful growth opportunities.

With more than 20 years of financial services experience, Vogel most recently led an adviser team at Ameriprise Financial Services.

At Cetera, the company said Vogel will help deepen adviser engagement, including collaborating closely with advisers to develop personalized growth plans.

“Rich’s management and leadership styles are great cultural fits with Cetera, and his experience with both asset management and broker-dealers means he understands how Cetera and our advisers do business, end to end,” said Tom Halloran, president and chief executive officer of Cetera Advisors.

Vogel’s commitment to supporting advisers and their client-focused approach to financial planning and advice dovetails with the high-touch service, in-office support, and dedicated regional growth teams that are hallmarks of how Cetera supports its advisers, the company said.

“Rich shares Cetera’s commitment to ‘making the big feel small,’ which includes staying in front of our advisers to help ensure they’re leveraging all our growth-oriented service offerings and our dedicated support teams because that’s all key to having the best adviser experience possible,” added Halloran.

Vogel also previously held leadership roles at Lincoln Financial Group from 2015 to 2023, Bank of America Merrill Lynch for a decade, and Merrill Lynch for a prior five years.

“The opportunity to join an industry leader like Cetera that’s in high-growth mode – both organically and inorganically through [mergers and acquisitions] – was extraordinarily attractive to me and simply too good to pass up,” said Vogel. “I look forward to meeting with our advisers and staying close to them not only strategically, but by spending time with them in their offices. Among the many attractive aspects of Cetera is their commitment to knowing our advisers’ business in great detail because that’s how we can help advisers grow the way they want to grow.”

Owned by Cetera Holdings, Cetera Financial Group offers financial professionals and institutions the latest solutions to grow, scale, or transition with a merger, sale, investment, or succession plan. Cetera serves independent financial advisers, tax professionals, licensed administrators, large enterprises, as well as institutions. Home to approximately 12,000 financial professionals and their teams, Cetera oversaw more than $554 billion in assets under administration and $246 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025.
