Becknell Taps LaSalle Veteran Greenwald to Build Selling Group for Private REIT
Russ A. Greenwald

Becknell Industrial has appointed Russ A. Greenwald as director of strategic partnerships. He joins the firm’s existing sales team and will focus on growing the selling group for Becknell Industrial Income Trust Inc., or BIIT, the firm’s private, perpetual-life industrial income real estate investment trust.

“Russ has strong relationships with leading wealth management firms,” said Patrick Harrington, chief legal officer of Becknell Industrial. “His experience aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing high-quality industrial real estate investments intended to deliver reliable income and long-term value appreciation for advisers and their clients.”

Greenwald has more than three decades of experience in the retail capital markets. Prior to joining Becknell, he served as senior vice president and national account manager at LaSalle Investment Management from 2015 through 2026, where he helped build the selling group for JLL Income Property Trust. He also held senior leadership positions with Mesirow Financial, Guggenheim Investments, and Allstate Financial.

He holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 26, 63, and 65 licenses.

“The opportunity to help expand BIIT’s reach among strategic distribution partners is well timed and aligned with the type of conservative real estate investments that financial advisers and investors are seeking in today’s uncertain economic environment,” Greenwald said.

Becknell Industrial launched BIIT in February; the fund marks Becknell’s expansion into the retail capital markets, offering accredited investors access to what the company says are institutional-grade industrial assets. BIIT’s distribution team is working through the independent broker-dealer, registered investment adviser, and family office channels.

Becknell Industrial specializes in purpose-built industrial real estate development, design and construction, and long-term asset management. The company was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in suburban Chicago, with four additional offices in Charlotte, Indianapolis, Miami, and San Diego. In its 36-year history, Becknell has acquired or developed more than 250 industrial buildings occupying more than 41 million square feet with a total capitalization of $4.5 billion.
