AssetMark Taps Ex-LPL Product Exec Kate Winters to Lead Investment Platforms

AssetMark Inc. has appointed former LPL Financial executive Kate Winters as senior vice president and head of investment platforms and solutions, the Concord, Calif.-based wealth management platform said Nov. 5.

Winters will lead AssetMark’s investment platform teams and enterprise-wide commercial strategy, with a focus on expanding the firm’s capabilities in the registered investment adviser, high-net-worth, and private markets segments, the company said. She will report to David McNatt, executive vice president and chief wealth solutions and strategy officer, and will be based in AssetMark’s East Coast office in Charlotte, N.C.

“Kate brings deep wealth management experience and an exceptional record of leading investment product strategy, platform innovation, and strategic partner relationships at scale,” McNatt said.

Winters most recently served as senior vice president of investment products and strategic partners at LPL Financial, where she led investment product strategy and management across the firm’s brokerage and advisory platforms, including private markets, and headed its strategic partners team. She previously held product leadership roles at MassMutual and MetLife and was head of investment operations for WealthPlan Financial Partners, an office of supervisory jurisdiction at Lincoln Financial. She has more than 25 years of industry experience.

AssetMark said Winters will help advance its shift from a traditional turnkey asset management platform to a broader wealth management platform. Recent additions the company cited include an expanded direct indexing program, a curated private markets program, and tax management services within its unified managed account platform.

AssetMark entered private markets in November 2025, offering advisers access to four semi-liquid funds: Apollo Diversified Credit Fund, Carlyle Tactical Private Credit Fund, KKR Real Estate Select Trust, and StepStone Private Infrastructure Fund. In September, it added the Calamos Aksia Private Equity and Alternatives Fund and the StepStone Private Equity Strategies Fund, bringing the lineup to what AssetMark describes as six interval funds across private credit, private real estate, private infrastructure, and private equity.

“AssetMark has built a strong foundation and has a meaningful opportunity to expand the ways it supports advisers,” Winters said.

Founded in 1996, AssetMark said it serves more than 10,000 financial advisers and more than 340,000 investor households, with more than $180 billion in platform assets as of June 30, 2026.
