ARCTRUST – a fully integrated real estate company specializing in the development, acquisition and joint-venture funding of investment properties and net lease opportunities – announced several leadership updates within the management teams of its affiliated private growth and income real estate investment fund, ARCTRUST III, Inc., a real estate investment trust.

Jason Kessler was appointed president, where he will guide investment initiatives and support the execution of long-term strategies. Kessler has worked with the ARCTRUST Group of Companies since 2014, starting as director of development and currently serving as chief investment officer. Prior to joining the real estate sector, Kessler worked for Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers.

Kessler attended the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.

Silvia Fernandes, Esq., was named chief operating officer, where she will oversee day-to-day operations across the REIT’s portfolio. Fernandes is chief legal officer for the ARCTRUST Group of Companies. In addition to her new appointment, she also serves as secretary, vice president, and general counsel for ARCTRUST III. Admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, and the U.S. Supreme Court, Fernandes also has extensive experience in a wide range of corporate and real estate matters.

Fernandes earned her Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. She also holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

“ARCTRUST has always prioritized strong leadership as a foundation of our investment strategy,” said Gary Baumann, Esq., chief executive officer and chairman of ARCTRUST III. “Jason and Silvia bring a wealth of experience and dedication, and with them stepping into expanded roles, we are well-positioned to continue bringing value to our investors and building on ARCTRUST’s legacy of trusted real estate investment.”

As reported by AltsWire last month, Baumann was recently promoted to chairman, providing overall leadership and strategic vision for the REIT.

Baumann is an industry veteran who has served with the ARCTRUST Group of Companies since 2005, when he started as vice president of construction. He assumed the role of CEO in 2020. He has also held the positions of general counsel and chief operating officer. As an attorney, Baumann has practiced law in New York and New Jersey.

Baumann earned his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law-Newark. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Kean University.

Since its inception, the ARCTRUST Group of Companies, which includes ARCTRUST Private Capital, has been responsible for the development, acquisition, and joint-venture funding of more than 500 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $5 billion.
