Ameriprise Recruits $470 Million Advisory Team From Wells Fargo

Ameriprise Financial Inc. (NYSE: AMP) has added a four-person advisory practice overseeing $470 million in client assets, Ameriprise said. Sher Jeshiva Group joined Ameriprise’s branch channel from Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC.
The practice, based in Melville, N.Y., and Naples, Fla., is led by financial advisers Glen Sher and Michael Jeshiva, and includes financial adviser Philip Basile and registered client service associate Kathryn Acer-Richard. The team is supported locally by Ameriprise branch manager Aaron Wolson, complex director Kevin Peters, and regional vice president Todd Hubley.
“As we evaluated where we wanted to build the next chapter of our practice, Ameriprise stood apart,” Sher said. “We were impressed with the firm’s technology and found it superior to anything we’ve experienced in the industry, particularly in how efficiently we can now serve our clients. Above all, we wanted to align with a firm that shares our unwavering commitment to clients. That shared philosophy made Ameriprise the clear choice.”
The addition continues a recent run of advisory-team recruitment at Ameriprise. In October, the firm’s branch channel added The Atlantic Group, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based practice managing more than $1.6 billion in client assets, from Oppenheimer & Company Inc.
Of joining Ameriprise, Jeshiva said: “Ameriprise has sophisticated financial and estate planning capabilities, deep resources and a level of support that allows us to focus on what matters most: helping our clients navigate important financial decisions with confidence. More than 90% of our clients have already committed to making the transition with us, which reinforces our confidence in this decision.”
Ameriprise has recruited approximately 1,700 experienced financial advisers over the past five years and has more than 10,000 financial advisers nationwide, according to the company.
