ADISA Announces 2025 Alts Industry Award Winners

The Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association presented awards at its annual conference and trade show in Las Vegas Monday evening. With more than 1,000 professionals in attendance, the trade association for the alternative investments industry – more commonly known as ADISA – announced the 2025 winners of its A Champion of Excellence (ACE), Distinguished Service and President’s awards.
“Honoring the achievements of our members is one of ADISA’s most important traditions and continues to reflect our ongoing commitment to recognizing individuals whose dedication and professionalism elevate the standards of our industry,” said Jade Miller, chief executive officer of ADISA. “These honorees embody the values of leadership, service, and excellence that strengthen both our association and the broader alternative investment community.”
The ACE Award, ADISA’s highest distinction, is presented to a member who has not only reached the pinnacle of professional achievement but has also brought honor to ADISA through exemplary service and contributions to the industry. In 2025, the award was bestowed upon Louis Rogers, founder and co-CEO of Capital Square, following a nomination and review process conducted by ADISA members.
The Distinguished Service Award honors individuals and companies that demonstrate outstanding service to ADISA, the alternative investments industry, and the broader community. The 2025 recipient was Zia Sabir, vice president of business development at Mick Law P.C., chosen from nominations submitted by ADISA members.
Joanna Venetch, founder and principal at Hana Solutions LLC, earned the President’s Award. Chosen by ADISA’s president of its board of directors, Matt Iak of U.S. Energy Development Corporation, the President’s Award is given to an individual or organization that has made outstanding contributions in their chosen field, either by service in local, state or national affairs, or in support of the advancement and continued excellence of ADISA.
“Louis, Zia and Joanna exemplify what it means to serve with distinction,” said John Grady, ADISA’s executive director. “Their contributions extend far beyond personal success to include meaningful impacts on their colleagues, clients and the industry as a whole. ADISA is proud to celebrate their accomplishments.”
ADISA also honored member Mark Kosanke with the ADISA Foundation Award in recognition of his generosity and dedication to the foundation. The ADISA Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, supports scholarships and special projects that advance the study and appreciation of the alternative and direct investment industry.
Additionally, in a special recognition this year, ADISA honored Darryl Steinhause, partner at DLA Piper, for his 22 years of dedicated service and counsel. A founding force in the formation of the association in 2003, Steinhause, who is stepping back from his volunteer counsel role at ADISA at the end of 2025, has served in numerous capacities throughout his career, most recently as ex-officio, volunteer legal counsel.
“Darryl has been a cornerstone of ADISA since its inception,” Grady added. “His wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment have shaped not only our association but also the broader alternative investments industry.”

The nation’s largest event for members of the alternative investments industry, ADISA’s 2025 Annual Conference & Trade Show has brought together more than 1,000 of the industry’s leading professionals from over 400 firms for education, dealmaking and conversations that will help shape the future of alternatives.
Recently, ADISA hosted a webinar discussing the momentum and path forward for implementation of the president’s recent executive order on incorporating alternative investments in defined contribution retirement plans.
The Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association bills itself as the nation’s largest trade association representing the non‐traded alternative investment space. ADISA’s members are typically involved in non-traded real estate investment trusts, business development companies, master limited partnerships and private and public funds, 1031 exchange programs, energy and oil and gas interests, equipment leasing programs, or other alternative and direct investment offerings.
ADISA was founded in 2003 and has approximately 5,000 members, representing more than 220,000 professionals throughout the nation – including sponsor members who have raised in excess of $200 billion in equity and serve more than 1 million investors.
