Carson Group Expands Atlanta Footprint With $1.6 Billion RIA Acquisition

Carson Group has acquired Marietta Wealth Management, a Marietta, Ga.-based independent registered investment adviser overseeing approximately $1.6 billion in assets under advisement. The firm was not previously affiliated and joins Carson’s integrated channel as a Carson Wealth office. Terms were not disclosed.

Marietta Wealth Management is led by managing partners and wealth advisers Scott Keller, Charlie Holloway, Ben Crowe and Wes Hackney. Carson described the firm as multigenerational, with a practice built around financial planning, investment management, tax planning, and retirement planning for individuals, families, and business owners.

Clients will continue working with their existing advisers and service team, according to Carson. The firm’s advisers gain access to Carson’s broader platform, including expanded planning solutions, investment research, operational support, and Carson’s private client services offering, which Carson launched in August 2025 to help advisers serve clients with $10 million or more in investable assets.

“This team faced a challenge familiar to many successful advisory firms today,” said Burt White, chief executive officer of Carson Group. “They wanted to keep growing, expand what they can offer clients and create long-term continuity without losing the planning philosophy and culture that made them successful.”

Marietta Wealth Management selected Carson after evaluating several potential partners, according to Carson. Carson said the transaction is intended to strengthen the practice over the long term, including expanded ownership opportunities for team members and development of its next generation of advisers.

“We were looking for a partner that would allow us to keep serving clients the way we always have while giving us the scale, resources and expertise to do even more for them,” Keller said. “Carson stood out because of its proven track record in helping firms remain local while continuing to grow.”

“We were so impressed by the four principals, their strong culture and the business they’ve built that we made it a priority to get to Atlanta and spend more time with them in person,” said Michael Belluomini, senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions at Carson Group.

Carson said the deal expands its presence in the Atlanta market. Last week, Carson added St. John & Associates, a Roswell, Ga.-based practice with approximately $131 million in assets under management, to its Carson Wealth office in Milton, Ga. In February, Carson fully acquired the Milton office and folded its Atlanta and Dunwoody office into it, and in August it added $405 million Atlanta-based Yari Capital to its independent channel from Northwestern Mutual.

Alaris Acquisitions served as exclusive mergers and acquisitions adviser to Marietta Wealth Management.

The deal follows Carson’s July addition of Doyle and Loughman Wealth Management, a Hanover, N.H.-based practice that joined from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network with approximately $1.76 billion in advisory and brokerage assets. At the time, Carson reported managing more than $60 billion in assets.

Carson Group reports more than $66 billion in assets under management and serves more than 60,000 client families across its advisory network of more than 165 partner offices, including more than 50 Carson Wealth locations.
