LPL Recruits $1.1B Praxis Team From Wells Fargo’s Independent Channel

Four advisers from Praxis Financial Partners, an Alpharetta, Ga., team that reported serving approximately $1.1 billion in assets, have joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and registered investment adviser platform from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, LPL said Oct. 5.
The team is Scott Christian, Cecil Loyd, Jay Gentry, and Matt Dion. LPL said the $1.1 billion in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets was approximated from asset and holding details the team provided as of year-end 2025.
The move comes weeks after LPL recruited Horizon Wealth Management Group, a Wichita, Kan., team that reported about $385 million in assets. Horizon also left Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network for LPL in September.
Praxis serves business owners, corporate retirees, executives, and multigenerational families in 24 states. Christian and Loyd launched the firm in 2013 after working together for decades. Gentry joined in 2020 after 20 years in asset management distribution, and Dion joined in 2024 after 15 years as an adviser. The advisers hold weekly investment committee meetings and manage a significant portion of client assets in-house. A support staff of six assists them.
The team evaluated more than a dozen firms before choosing LPL, citing the firm’s ability to let advisers keep ownership of their business and preserve future succession and continuity options, LPL said.
“LPL’s open architecture platform gives us the freedom to build the wealth management ecosystem we believe best serves our clients,” Christian said. “The planning tools, flexibility and ability to create our own technology stack will help us continue delivering exceptional service while positioning the firm for future growth.”
LPL Financial Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: LPLA) said it supports more than 32,000 financial advisers and the wealth management practices of approximately 1,100 financial institutions. It said it services and custodies approximately $2.6 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets.
