Great Lakes Fund Solutions has named Merriah Harkins head of business development. She will lead the firm’s business development strategy and its expansion across the investment industry, Great Lakes said.

Great Lakes Fund Solutions is a business process outsourcing provider that serves as a fund administrator, transfer agent, and IT services provider for alternative investment funds distributed through broker-dealer, registered investment adviser, and wholesale networks. The company is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a transfer agent.

Harkins has more than 20 years of experience in capital markets, building and scaling alternative investment distribution platforms across the independent broker-dealer, RIA, family office, and institutional channels, Great Lakes said. Her background spans real estate, private equity and credit, venture capital, equipment leasing, and energy.

She joins Great Lakes Fund Solutions from Lukrom, where she served as chief sales officer from January 2025 to March 2026. Before that, she spent nearly nine years at Beneficient and related companies, from April 2016 to January 2025, most recently as head of retail capital markets and chief services officer.

Harkins began her career at Aetna, Vanguard, and Charles Schwab. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.

“Merriah brings more than two decades of relationships across every major channel in the alternative investment space,” said Rob McLamore, president of Great Lakes Fund Solutions. “She has seen this industry from virtually every angle, and we are excited to have her leading our growth efforts.”
