Cambridge Recruits 189 Advisers, $6.8B in Assets in First Half 2026

Independent broker-dealer Cambridge Investment Research Inc. said 189 financial advisers joined its platform during the first half of 2026, bringing approximately $6.8 billion in assets under advisement and $55.9 million in annualized revenue.
The total included Cambridge’s March 2026 acquisition of WealthPlanners LLC, a Des Plaines, Illinois-based wealth planning and benefits consulting firm that manages approximately $800 million in assets.
“The Cambridge story resonates with advisers who find themselves suddenly affiliated with mega consolidators and serial [merger and acquisition] shops and want a firm that prioritizes relationships, community, and a people-first culture,” said Tammy Robbins, executive vice president and chief business development officer at Cambridge.
Cambridge said many of the advisers who joined during the period came from firms subject to mass consolidation efforts, and cited advisers’ desire to build and conduct their practices independently as a driver of the recruiting activity.
The first-half 2026 results build on a record first half of 2025, when Cambridge recruited 185 advisers with nearly $5.1 billion in total client assets. The addition of four more advisers year-over-year corresponded with an increase of nearly $1.7 billion in assets under advisement and more than $10 million in revenue, a shift the company attributed to growing interest in its model among larger adviser teams.
Robbins said the firm’s investment in agentic AI and other enhancements to “core operational services” also stood out to the advisers who joined.
By quarter, Cambridge said it added $2.6 billion in new assets in the first quarter and $4.2 billion in the second, while revenue totaled $24.3 million and $31.6 million, respectively.
Cambridge said it exceeded $2 billion in total revenue for the first time in 2025 and posted record recruiting results for the second consecutive year.
