$12B Composition Wealth Adds General Counsel/CCO, Head of Advisers

Composition Wealth, a Los Angeles-based registered investment adviser with more than $12 billion in assets, has named Gabrielle Glemann general counsel and chief compliance officer and Joe Salcido head of advisers, the firm said Tuesday.
Glemann will oversee Composition’s legal and compliance functions and work with executive leadership on governance, risk management, and strategic growth. Salcido will work directly with the firm’s advisers on organic growth, coaching, and practice management support, the company said in a statement.
“Our unique value proposition as a true business partner and destination of choice for high-net-worth-focused financial advisers is resulting in great success, and our investment in high-quality executive talent reinforces our commitment to the growth of our firm and advisers,” said Nate Angelo, chief executive officer of Composition Wealth. “Gabrielle’s and Joe’s experience and perspectives not only enhance our management team, but better position us to execute on the next phase of our strategic expansion plans.”
Glemann has two decades of experience advising investment advisers registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, private fund managers, and global investment platforms. She comes to Composition from RIA Cercano Management, where she was general counsel and a partner. Before that, she was a director of legal and compliance at BlackRock, where she supported the firm’s global alternatives platform across hedge fund, private equity, direct, and co-investment strategies. She earlier practiced law at Stoel Rives LLP in Seattle and at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP.
Salcido has more than 20 years of experience in financial services sales, operations, and leadership. He spent nearly 10 years at Edelman Financial Engines, most recently as regional director of wealth planning, leading its southeast division of advisers. Earlier, as Edelman’s director of sales, he helped lead the company through two mergers and integrations and scaled its sales team. He started his career at Vanguard, where he spent more than a decade in sales, trading, and operations leadership roles.
The appointments come six months after Composition merged with Edgewater Wealth Management, a Tacoma, Wash.-based team that had overseen about $900 million in client assets at Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group. At the time, Composition reported more than $10 billion in assets. When AltsWire covered the firm’s chief investment officer hire in April 2024, it managed about $5.7 billion.
Composition was founded in 2007 as Miracle Mile Advisors and rebranded in early 2025. Private equity firm Corsair Capital is a minority investor. The firm has 125 employees and team locations in Los Angeles; Baltimore/Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; New York; San Diego; San Francisco; and Seattle.
