Sponsor Growth Solutions Adds Veteran to Expand National Accounts and Sales Support Services


Sponsor Growth Solutions, a firm that provides emerging sponsors with capital-raising and distribution strategies, has appointed Melissa Wendt as head of national accounts – distribution and sales strategy. With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Wendt brings a wealth of knowledge and has a track record of driving growth and profitability through strategic business development and sales initiatives.
Wendt’s expertise coupled with her extensive industry network aligns with SGS’ mission: to support emerging sponsors in their capital-raising efforts. In her new role, she will lead SGS’s national account and sales strategies, working closely with emerging sponsors to enhance distribution execution and deepen relationships across the broker-dealer and registered investment adviser channels.

Wheatley launched SGS in March following her tenure as chief operating officer at Keystone National Properties LLC from 2022 to 2024. Wheatley has facilitated the raising of hundreds of millions of dollars for various organizations, including Keystone and Preferred Capital Securities, as well as at Horizon Investments where she met Wendt.
Throughout her career, Wheatley said Wendt has demonstrated a unique ability to simplify complex investment strategies, foster collaboration, and drive substantial sales growth. As regional director at Horizon Investments from 2017 to 2023, Wendt managed a 13-state territory, increasing sales. SGS said Wendt’s expertise in national account management, combined with her hands-on approach, will be invaluable as SGS continues to expand its services in support of emerging sponsors.

Wendt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and was recognized as a member of the Money Management Institute Leadership Pathway program in 2021. She holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.
