Realta Equities Changes CEO for the Second Time in Less Than Two Years
By Staff

Realta Equities, a mid-sized independent broker-dealer and affiliate of Realta Wealth, announced the appointment of Elizabeth “Liz” Legacy as the firm’s interim chief executive officer. Legacy had served as the chief compliance officer of Realta Wealth since July 2024.
This is the second time in less than two years that Realta has changed its leadership. Legacy has replaced Kevin Keefe, an industry veteran who started working at Realta in April 2023. A 21-year securities industry executive, Keefe had previously worked at LPL Financial and a variety of other broker-dealers. It is not clear why Keefe left the firm.
As previously reported by Alts Wire, Realta renamed itself from CoastalOne in January 2024 to reflect the firm’s position “as a guiding light to help its advisers and clients reach their financial goals.” Realta has also recently named several new additions to its leadership team, including Tim Bowman as chief financial officer, John Barragan as chief operating officer, and Abbey Eastham as head of adviser relations.
Interim CEO Legacy is an industry veteran with more than two decades of experience in the securities industry. She has previously served as a senior compliance officer at a variety of firms, including LPL Financial, Commonwealth Financial Network, and Ameriprise.
Realta Wealth operates both RIA Realta Investment Advisors and broker-dealer Realta Equities. The firm was founded in 1989 in Cape Cod, Mass., and as of January 2024, had around 160 adviser employees and affiliates across both businesses. The RIA has close to $800 million in client assets, according to its Form ADV.
