Hines, iCapital Partnership Provides Latin American Investors Access to Global Portfolio

Hines closed on its first sponsored investment offering in Latin America. The strategic partnership between Hines Private Wealth Solutions and global fintech platform iCapital – a global fintech platform facilitating the alternative investments marketplace for the wealth management industry – provides Latin American investors with access to a diversified global portfolio of real estate assets, all outside of Latin America, with a total value of $4.14 billion as of March 31, 2024.

The portfolio is nearly two-thirds weighted toward industrial and living sectors and has properties in eight countries, including the United States and across Europe. The investment offering was backed by Hines, a leading global real estate investment manager with over 4,900 employees operating in markets around the world and more than $93 billion in assets under management.

“The overwhelming response reconfirms the ongoing need for financial professionals to provide pertinent alternative investment strategies to their Latin American clients,” stated Paul Ferraro, global head of private wealth at Hines. “Extending the reach of private wealth investment opportunities is at the core of our strategic vision, and by joining forces with iCapital again, we’ve seen just how effective that can be.”

Hines Securities Inc. announced an initial technology partnership with iCapital in November 2021. This led to an expansion, which gave Canadian investors access to Hines-sponsored investment products in April of last year.

Through this latest partnership, Hines PWS was able to leverage iCapital’s broad capabilities to help meet strong demand and complete the closing of the first Hines-sponsored Latin American offering. The Hines PWS platform offers a variety of investment opportunities, including public, non-listed real estate investment trusts, private placements, and a tax-deferred exchange platform.

“As demand for diversified investments continues to grow, we remain steadfast in our commitment to bolster access to alternative investing opportunities,” noted Lawrence Calcano, chairman and chief executive officer at iCapital. “We couldn’t be more excited to further enhance our relationship with Hines as their trusted technology partner.”

Hines was founded in 1957 and now operates in 30 countries. It manages a $93.2 billion portfolio of high-performing assets across residential, logistics, retail, office, and mixed-use strategies. It is committed to a net zero carbon target by 2040 without buying offsets.

iCapital is a global fintech company supporting the alternative investments marketplace.
