Easterly Asset Management Taps Two Industry Veterans for New SVP Roles

Easterly Asset Management, a multi-affiliate platform comprised of boutique investment managers, announced the appointments of Tom Aitken and Peter Mastropietro as senior vice presidents of private market sales.

Easterly reports that, in the newly created roles, Aitken and Mastropietro will work to further expand access to Easterly’s growing portfolio of alternative solutions, which seeks to provide private wealth and institutional investors with access to curated private markets solutions and works with financial advisers at independent registered investment advisers, wirehouses, and family offices.

“We have assembled a specialized team of high-performing sales executives to underscore our commitment to bringing differentiated and unique private markets investment opportunities to investors,” said Darrell Crate, founder and managing principal of Easterly. “Tom and Peter’s long tenure and extensive networks within the private wealth and institutional allocator channels will make them valuable additions to the distribution team as we seek to fulfill the growing demand among investors for quality alternative assets.”

Aitken joins Easterly after four years at UBS Global Asset Management, where he supported the firm’s real estate private markets investment funds, driving capital formation strategies, U.S. sales prospecting and expanding fund offerings as director of portfolio and client services, real estate and private markets. His previous roles include serving as director of institutional sales and business development at Unigestion, a Geneva-based multi-strategy boutique asset management firm, and as managing director at Bright Harbor Advisors, an independent private fund adviser. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Mastropietro most recently served as director within the capital formation and investor relations team at Brevan Howard, where he spearheaded business development and sales strategy for their global macro hedge fund solutions. Before that, he spent a decade at BlackRock within their institutional client business, guiding central banks, sovereign wealth funds and pensions through complex investment strategies. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Aitken and Mastropietro are just two of several key appointments made in recent months by Easterly. Genna Brounstein and Jennifer Cahill joined the firm as senior vice presidents of private market sales in September 2024.

Founded in 2019, Easterly Asset Management and its strategic partners provide private wealth and institutional investors with a portfolio of solutions across alternatives, active equity and active fixed income. As of June 30, 2024, Easterly and its strategic partners manage approximately $60B of client assets.
