Capital Square Hires VP of National Accounts to Grow Broker-Dealer, RIA Relationships

Capital Square, a sponsor of tax-advantaged real estate investments and a developer and manager of housing communities, announced that Albert Thompson has joined the firm as vice president, national accounts. In his new role, Thompson will support the growth of new and existing strategic relationships with broker-dealers and registered investment advisers.

“Capital Square has expanded its national accounts department with the hiring of Albert Thompson,” said Louis Rogers, founder and co-chief executive officer of Capital Square. “Thompson joins Jessica Correnti in national accounts. Together, they will drive Capital Square’s growth among broker-dealers and investment advisers. We are thrilled to have such an experienced and dynamic team.”

Thompson joins Capital Square with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he served as vice president, national accounts, for DWS from 2021 to 2024. There, he led the growth of the distribution network for independent broker-dealers and RIAs, cultivating strong relationships and leveraging strategic business planning skills. Previously, he was senior vice president for NB Private Capital from 2019 to 2020, and director of strategic accounts at Hines Real Estate from 2009 to 2015, where he was responsible for the expansion of distribution groups for independent broker-dealers and RIAs. Thompson began his career in 2002 as regional vice president, external wholesaler, for Van Kampen Investments.

Thompson, who holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24 and 63 licenses, studied accounting at Angelo State University and finance at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a recipient of LPL Financial’s Strategic Partner of the Year award while with Hines Real Estate.

Since its founding in 2012, Capital Square has acquired more than 170 real estate assets for over 6,500 investors seeking quality replacement properties that qualify for tax deferral under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code, along with opportunity zone funds and a real estate investment trust that acquires rental housing in the Southeast and Texas. In total, Capital Square has completed more than $7.9 billion in transaction volume and its mixed-used development projects total over 2,000 apartment units with a total development value in excess of $800 million.
